System Safety Specialist
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Candidate must be able to apply safety risk management processes and principles to aviation events, forecasted needs, and future Service projections within the NAS Architecture. These principles and processes will be used in the development and commissioning of new aviation systems (such as NextGen), evaluation of existing Services and new improvements on Services provided to the aviation community, and aviation procedures application.
Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in an appropriate technical area, such as engineering, information technology, statistics, or an equivalent area.
Experience: This individual must have a proven track record in successful application of system safety principles either in Government or civilian aviation entities with a minimum of five (5) or more years of experience. Must possess expertise in safety risk management and demonstrated capability in preparing briefings and technical reports for the Project Manager. Has the ability to explain complex safety problems and issues in simple terms to others not actively involved in the safety management field.
